       It is the sum of seed characteristics that determine the metabolic activity and performance of the seed during germination and seedling emergence

  The loss of seed vigor begins before the harvest and continues during harvest, processing and storage of seeds

    GOALS OF SEED VIGOR TESTS

​

1.   To obtain a seed quality indicator more sensitive than the Standard Germination Test

2.  Predicting the field performance and storage potential of a seed party to the nearest true

3. To be able to compare the performance of different seed parties with respect to their physiological and physical qualities

4. To plan the sale of different  lot seeds belonging to the same variety at which time and which area should be sold.
